Can I keep driving with PHOENIX ELD?
Not on this device. FMCSA's date was Dec 22, 2025 (308 days ago). Drivers still using it are in violation of 49 CFR 395.8(a)(1), "No record of duty status", and are placed out of service. The paper-log bridge in FMCSA's notice ran until that date: you need a registered ELD.
FMCSA's notice: "Discontinue using the revoked ELDs and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data." Replace "before Dec 22, 2025". The 8-day paper-log limit is a different rule, for a registered ELD that breaks down: "The driver must inform their carrier of the malfunction within 24 hours. The motor carrier has 8 days to repair, service, or replace the ELD." (FMCSA ELD FAQ)

Yes, if the maker fixes the problems: "If the ELD provider corrects all identified deficiencies for their devices, FMCSA will place the ELDs back on the list of registered devices and inform the industry and the field of the update." Until FMCSA's registered list shows it again, treat it as revoked.
What should I replace it with?
Any device on FMCSA's registered list. Registered providers that publish a monthly price start at $5.00 a month: ELD prices.
