Questions
Is HOBBS ELD FMCSA approved?
FMCSA doesn't approve ELDs: makers self-certify them, and FMCSA lists them as registered. HOBBS ELD (ELD ID HOBELD) is on FMCSA's registered ELD list dated Oct 24, 2026, the list 49 CFR 395.22(a) says carriers must pick from.
How do I tell if my ELD is this HOBBS ELD?
Match the ELD ID on your screen to HOBELD and check that your app is on version 1.0.0 or later. FMCSA lists each model and software version separately, and one maker can have one version registered and another revoked.
